Films on the Horizon

There are quite a number of major movies coming out this year that I am looking forward to seeing. I know that the number I actually see in the theaters will be at most two because I don't have any disposable income right now. Still, I am quite excited about these movies.

X-MEN: THE LAST STAND
This movie looks to be an incredible addition to the line of X-Men movies. I may be a little biased because the X-Men was a major part of my childhood, but I can't wait to see this movie.

NACHO LIBRE
Okay, this one is definately one that I won't be seeing in theaters. Yet, I do want to see this. I enjoy the comic stylings of Jack Black, and I love me some Lucha Libre (Mexican wrestling). So it's a natural movie for me to see.

THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS: TOKYO DRIFT
Uhhhh, talk about unecessary sequel. Actually, the second one was unecessary. The first movie should have stood alone because it was solid and it was decent. Number two was shit. Number three... well it's in Tokyo and that's the only reason I want to see it.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST
Because I'm a motherfucking pirate! Seriously, a sequel to one of my all time new favorite movies and another round of Johnny Depp's incredible performance as Cap'n Jack Sparrow.

MIAMI VICE
If you don't accept that Miami Vice is the greatest TV show ever (behind the A-Team) then you aren't my friend. It stars Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell, so there will be some solid performances. It's also directed by Michael Mann, who made some very good movies including Collateral.

SNAKES ON A PLANE
We got snakes on a motherfucking plane! This movie is such a bad idea that it HAS to be good, right? It's no Bees on a Tugboat, but it'll do. How many millions will this make?

CLERKS 2
I'm living the Kevin Smith slacker life, according to a friend of mine. His dream life. Anyway, this movie is a sequel to one of the coolest indy films ever. The cast may be a little more star-studded than the original, but I have faith in Kevin Smith. I really can't wait to see this movie, it'll be genius.

THE GRUDGE 2
The inevitable sequel after the success of the first one, and I want to see it even if it's really only because of the "Japan factor". I guess there is also a guaranteed third movie too. So many sequels...

CASINO ROYALE
I know, I KNOW, that a blond James Bond will not be able to capture the aura that is the greatest British spy ever. I'll never accept a blond Bond, and I hope this is the only outing for Daniel Craig. It should've been Clive Owen!

TENACIOUS D in THE PICK OF DESTINY
The 'story' of how Tenacious D formed, in movie form. It'll be funny, but how good will it be? I don't know, all I know is I do want to see it a little bit.

And that's that...

Dante Hicks: But you hate people.
Randal Graves: Yes, but I love gatherings. Isn't it ironic?
